“Serving One Another in Love”

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Galatians 5:13-14)

Through Jesus’ blood, we have been set free. How should we then exercise our freedom?

We can first recall how we were before – captive under sin, lost in the world, and without hope. However, Jesus bore the cross and shed his blood for us. Through his ultimate sacrifice, we gained freedom.

We then recognize that the only path to take is to follow in Christ’s footsteps. Though we were so undeserving and lowly, Jesus served us with love and humility, without hesitation. As recipients of the greatest grace, we can surely do the same for our neighbor – sharing in love and serving them, just as Christ did for us.

What are some ways that we can serve others in love this week?
